From the Carl’s Prime Family

Robert Dickert opened Carl’s Prime in 2011 in Downtown Scranton, PA.  When Robert voiced his interest in opening another restaurant in Scranton, his daughter, Patricia sold him on the “farm to table” idea. Using local farmers, changing the menu seasonally, and practicing sustainable methods; reducing waste, and up-cycling for the interior design.  Patricia and her husband Gregory are now operating Terra Preta Restaurant.  Patricia was previously the front of the house manager at Carl’s Prime and Gregory worked in both the kitchen and as a server.

Now, Patricia and her father have teamed up to bring the best of both restaurants in the newly relocated Terra Preta Prime, in the previous Carl’s Prime space. With a strong sense of sustainable food and the finest in USDA prime dry-aged steaks, Terra Preta Prime is sure to please all palettes.

Practicing what they preach

Both Patricia and Gregory  love hospitality and are passionate and committed to eating and serving whole, local foods. Patricia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and turned her life around by practicing mindful eating and eating nutrient dense whole foods. With the support of her husband, she now lives a pharmaceutical and symptom-free life.

Terra Preta opened in October of 2014 with the motto “Live Well.  Eat Well.” The menu showcases food at its finest by featuring an array of uniquely prepared small plates reflecting the flavors of the season.  Hand-crafted beverages combine fresh cold-pressed juices, natural infusions, and spirits to create cocktails that are truly works of art.
